For Sale: 1949 Homebuilt Teardrop Trailer, based on the"Honeymoon House Trailer" plans from "Popular Home Craft" Magazine March-April 1939 and "Trailer for Two" from "Mechanix Illustrated" Magazine Sept.1947. All the Galley and storage plans are from the "Honeymoon House Trailer"and the Outside was built "from the Trailer for Two." It has updated 110 volt electric, No 12 volt (but it could be added), No water system, weight is about 800 lbs., and tows great. It is built out of Masonite over a wood substructure. The current yellow and white paint is a few years old (done by former owner). The wood on the inside is original as it came. On the right side of the trailer at the door it has a shower curtain device that makes a very nice "Changing Room" or even use it for the porta potty. TEARDROP SELLERS BEWARE! There is a plague of scammers on the internet intent on separating you from your money, all in the guise of buying what you are selling! You will likely get a whole bunch of similarly worded inquiries to your ad here, and anywhere else on the internet, most from seemingly legit names and e-mail addresses - they all seem to not have a firm grasp on the English language, they will always ask for your best and final price, and many will state that shipping and handling will not be a problem because they already have that arranged. If you reply, most all will tell you they will pay with a cashier's check for a substantial amount over your asking price, and you are to cash that check and give the balance to the "shipper" when he comes to pick up the item you are selling, some will state that right up front in their inquiry. Our best advice there is to be diligent and aware, and make judicious use of the DELETE key. If you think one or two of these types of inquiries just might be the real deal, simply tell them you won't accept anything less than what you are asking, in cold hard American cash, personally delivered! Unfortunately, this kind of thing is happening to everybody selling anything on the internet, and it's just something we'll all have to deal with until the internet gurus figure out a way to track and hang these bozos. Good Luck selling your teardrop, nonetheless - believe me, more serious buyers seek out our site than any other, so your odds are pretty darn good! Back to Top!!!
